Dark Rose is our hibiscus and cascara based energy soother. Fusing healing ingredients that feature in differing medicinal modalities and Fairtrade certified Cascara from the women of the Neknasi Coffee Cooperative based in Papua New Guinea.

We are so grateful to the team at Fairtrade for connecting us with our hero ingredient Cascara which comes from the coffee producing cooperative in Sikilan village, Papua New Guinea and is the outcome of an initiative to utlise a byproduct of the coffee industry to add value to their existing trade. By using the Cascara as the vehicle of connection, our intention is, along with Fairtrade, to bring awareness to the hard work and craft that the women of the Neknasi Coffee project are doing as a means to provide a better way of life for themselves, and their families. Creating employment opportunities, income autonomy, encouraging entrepreneurship and elevating womens education is at the heart of this all-female led project.
Active benefits// this delicious tea works to energise, awaken and hydrate. An ideal alternative to coffee with the most gentle pick me up from the naturally cafinated cascara. Hibiscus and rosehip are packed full of antioxidants, both are anti inflammatory with rosehip containing high amounts of vitamin C. Rose petals are considered calming and soothing and cascara has a high concentration of polyphenols and is gently energising thanks to its cafiene content which is significantly lower than the coffee bean.
Brewing ritual// Boil freshly drawn filtered water (or even better spring water) in the kettle and place the Dark Rose leaves in your teapot (we suggest 1 heaped tsp per cup). Pour the water over the leaves and steep for 4 minutes. Pour your tea, set an intention and enjoy. Allow to cool and serve with sparkling water over ice for a delicate pink and deliciously hydrating summer herbal spritz.
